SESEF is an association of educators and scientists established to promote understanding of planet Earth in Scottish schools and colleges, and to support the development and delivery of science in an Earth and environmental context in the Curriculum for Excellence. An understanding of how the planet works should be an essential part of every young person’s education and is necessary for the sustainability and responsible use of Earth environments and resources. SESEF have developed a wide range of resources to support teachers in primary and secondary schools, as well as outdoor education and lifelong learning resources for schools and communities. Examples include resources on energy, fossil fuels and new technologies (e.g. carbon capture and storage), glaciation and landscapes, climate change and outdoor education (www.sesef.co.uk).
